Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for a leading and prestigious recycling manufacturing company and, due to their continued growth and development, they are seeking to employ a Maintenance Engineer for their Lakenheath, Suffolk site to start ASAP.
This is a permanent role with a basic salary from £40k – £42k DOE and plenty of opportunity for overtime paid over the annual salary.
Basic working hours are Monday to Friday, with daily overtime available and Saturday AM overtime.
Key Responsibilities
This role keeps production moving and involves:
* carrying out routine checks and emergency fixes to keep machinery running
* changing blades and maintaining the safety of the kit
* staying on top of the maintenance plan and stepping in quickly when breakdowns happen
* working with supervisors to keep everything running smoothly
* providing ideas on how to improve production processes
* blending PPM and reactive duties with a 70/30 ratio of mechanical/electrical work
Qualifications
* Mechanical engineering experience is a must
* Electrical skills are a plus; training will be provided if absent
* Experience with conveyors, augers and heavy plant machinery is advantageous
* Forklift licence handy (training available)
* Ability to diagnose problems quickly, remain calm under pressure and work effectively as a team player
* Capability to take the lead and use initiative when needed; positive, flexible attitude required
