The OPCMHT post holder will work within an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team to:
1. Offer assessment, formulation, and intervention for a wide range of presentations using individual, family, and group approaches.
2. Provide case formulation and training sessions for staff teams to extend psychological ways of working.
3. Conduct enhanced neuropsychological assessments for more complex cases.
4. Support the development of a Structured Clinical Management pathway for older people with personality disorder.
5. Assist in developing Meeting Centres for post-diagnostic support for people with dementia and their families across the county.
6. Jointly supervise the Assistant Psychologist (with the Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist) in the co-located MAS for short-term CBT-based interventions and personal development.
7. Supervise the Assistant Psychologist for the OPCMHT.
8. Collaborate in using outcome data to inform and develop best practices.
9. Contribute to service user forums and audit projects to collect data informing Trust management, commissioners, users, and stakeholders about the needs of this population.

We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist, managed within the psychology service, based within our Older People's Community Mental Health Team (OPCMHT) in Northampton, Northamptonshire. Each OPCMHT is supported by a part-time Assistant Psychologist and has regular trainee placements.
Our OPCMHTs provide psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for individuals over 65 with dementia, emotional disorders, or psychosis. Opportunities also exist in staff training, service development, and case formulation with teams.
