Job Title: Senior Practitioner - Children in Care
Hourly Rate: 41.50
Work Pattern: Hybrid
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Practitioner to join our Children in Care Team. Our goal is to achieve permanence for children and young people who are Looked After, ensuring they are in a safe, secure home that meets their needs and supports their development. We aim to promote their educational, physical, and mental well-being at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead on complex cases involving risk, safety, and other challenges affecting children, young people, carers, and families.
2. Prepare clear and analytical written and verbal reports for various settings, including court.
3. Guide and supervise Social Workers and Child Practitioners, supporting their performance and development, including conducting supervision.
4. Support Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) in their Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) and serve as an assessor; support Student Social Workers as their Onsite Supervisor or Practice Educator.
5. Assist in case planning, allocation, and review.
6. Participate in staff recruitment and induction processes.
7. Collaborate with the Team Manager on case audits and other delegated management tasks.
Skills & Experience
1. Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Ability to work from various locations and travel independently across the county.
3. Minimum of 3 years post-qualifying experience.
