The role Southern Housing is delivering a major energy-efficiency retrofit programme, and we are looking for a proactive Retrofit Engagement Officer to help residents understand, participate in, and benefit from energy improvements to their homes. Reporting to the Sustainability Engagement Lead, you will be the programmes on-the-ground presence - supporting residents through the process, improving access for retrofit assessments, and ensuring a smooth, positive customer experience throughout. What youll do: Engage with residents in person, by phone, and email to clearly explain retrofit benefits Guide residents through each stage of the retrofit process Carry out targeted door-knocking to increase retrofit assessment access rates Build trusted relationships and ensure resident feedback is captured Keep resident and property information accurate and up to date for assessors and internal teams Support resident communications and coordinate access for assessors and consultants Work with internal teams to ensure residents are referred to the right support services Assist the Sustainability Engagement Lead with gathering content for case studies, and support planning and delivery of resident events and roadshows to raise awareness and drive engagement Ensure all engagement activity is safe, high-quality, and aligned with programme goals Regular travel and occasional weekend work will be required This role can be based at one of our main offices in Farringdon or Sittingbourne and is offered with a hybrid working arrangement between office, site visits and work from home. You will also require a valid driving licence and essential use of car to fulfil this role. What youll need: Knowledge and clear understanding of energy efficiency improvements, retrofit process, and carbon reduction Experience working with social housing residents and in customer-focused roles Experience supporting retrofit/sustainability programmes and coordinating resident events Strong communication, relationship-building, and time-management skills Confident using IT systems, databases, and spreadsheets Full UK driving licence and access to a car In your supporting statement, it is important that you address how you meet each of the above six criteria providing real examples.?
