Do you love the outdoors and want to play a key role in maintaining one of Staffordshire’s most beautiful and vibrant green spaces?

Chasewater Country Park is looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Officer to help keep the park and visitor centre running smoothly for thousands of visitors each year.

Main Responsibilities

As our new Maintenance Officer, you’ll be essential to the day-to-day operations of the park and Visitor Centre. Your role will be varied and dynamic — no two days are the same!

1. Visitor Centre Maintenance – Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, facilities-related housekeeping, waste management, and recycling services, as appropriate.
2. Conference & Event Setup – Prepare spaces for meetings, exhibitions, and community events.
3. Premise Management Support – Proactively undertake and maintain records of scheduled compliance checks.
4. Centre Support – Assist with reception, retail sales, and general customer service.
5. Opening & Closing Duties – Help keep the site safe and secure for staff and visitors.
6. Site Patrol & Maintenance – Support onsite staff with litter picking, fly-tipping response, planting upkeep, and minor repairs.
7. Community Engagement – Help deliver on-site events that promote activity and enjoyment at Chasewater.


The Ideal Candidate

What we’re looking for:

* A practical, reliable team player who enjoys working indoors and outdoors.
* Comfortable with hands-on maintenance tasks and using basic tools.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Able to work flexibly, including weekends and some evenings.
* Experience in a similar environment or public-facing role is a bonus but not essential.
