About The Role
Ensure that all fire and safety equipment within the company is in working order, monitored regularly, and that faults are reported. Complete weekly testing of fire alarms and visual inspections of fire extinguishers across all venues. Conduct regular fire safety checks of venues and accommodation units, complete monthly reports, and enforce fire safety regulations on the resort, sharing best practices with the team.
Maintain the Fire Safety portal and Logbook to ensure compliance with the Fire Policy. Carry out Fire Warden training as needed to educate team members on fire safety. Monitor and mitigate unwanted fire alarm activations.
Work with external contractors to ensure compliance with fire regulations, liaising with Fire & Rescue Service and other authorities. Investigate fire incidents, near misses, and compliance failures, providing guidance to prevent future incidents.
Contribute to central teams on fire safety requirements for new builds and modifications. Advise on fire safety related to building structure, services, alterations, and maintenance.
Ensure each venue has at least one fire drill per year and that fire risk assessments are carried out and addressed in collaboration with the Resort Facilities team.
About You
Possess good IT literacy, attention to detail, and strong communication and negotiation skills. Be a team player with the ability to work independently and make decisions. Flexibility to work on health and safety projects, including weekends, is essential.
Ability to organise and prioritise workloads, manage projects, and complete paperwork efficiently. Maintain professionalism and handle confidential information responsibly. Be self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Qualifications and Training
Ideally, hold a NEBOSH Fire Certificate; if not, be willing to complete the course within 12 months of starting. Have experience with Fire Risk Assessments. A training qualification is preferred but not essential, as training can be provided. Be prepared to undertake Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
