We are seeking a highly skilled and influential Strategic Lead for Licensing Services to shape the future of licensing across the Council. This is a pivotal role at the heart of public protection, community safety and economic vitality—ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and a passion for service improvement. About the Role: As our strategic lead, you will provide authoritative direction and professional oversight for all licensing functions. You will ensure services meet statutory duties, deliver excellent customer experience, and contribute to wider corporate priorities including Community Safety, and the Council’s long-term transformation agenda. You will lead a high-performing service, guide policy development, advise senior leaders and elected members, and strengthen our partnerships with businesses, communities and key agencies such as Police, Fire and Public Health. You will also represent the Council in regional networks and at formal hearings, inquiries and committee meetings.
