What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is able to remain calm in challenging situations and who is committed to supporting children’s health, wellbeing and development. Previous experience is not essential for this role. Our Skills to Care induction includes two weeks of classroom-based training and a week of shadow shifts to prepare for the role.
Responsibilities
* You will help facilitate children’s activities and appointments, supporting them in all aspects of their lives. You will ensure their health and wellbeing, safeguarding them at all times.
* You will meet a variety of children and young people, some of whom may require high levels of supervision and support.
* You will support the wider team with ongoing domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and food shopping.
* You will create timetables, manage paperwork and write reports.
Requirements
* Age 22 or above (to meet Ofsted regulations).
* Caring, compassionate and able to build positive relationships with others.
* Valid manual driving licence.
* Ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
What you’ll get
* £50 per sleep-in.
* Holiday entitlement: 224 hours, gradually increasing to 248 hours after 4 years with us.
* Additional leave: 3.5 days (one for your birthday, one to health and wellbeing, one to volunteer, plus a half day for festive celebrations).
* Service awards: £200 at 2 years, £400 at 5 years, £600 at 10 years, plus up to £500 special recognition for outstanding practice.

* REACH Awards: up to £150 monthly.

The successful applicants will be appointed subject to references and enhanced DBS check.
