We’re looking for a Development Manager to join our Team! Due to continued success and company growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to join our team. Working within our Production division, the successful candidate will be an experienced full-stack developer that already has strong leadership skills and management experience. You’ll lead, manage, and be accountable for the Development Team while remaining actively involved in coding, technical delivery, and driving innovation. ​ What you’ll be doing As a member of our Production Management Team, the Development Manager will work with, and under the direction of, the Chief Production Officer to manage the Development Team and oversee all aspects of software delivery. You’ll act with reliability, maintain strict confidentiality, adhere to all Company policies, and be a champion of the Company Values at all times. Core Accountabilities Lead, manage and be accountable for the Development Team (Developers and QA). Oversee all development project timelines, ensuring deliverables are completed on time. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business objectives. Ensure Developers are working to industry best practices and coding standards, addressing any areas of concern as required. Mentor and support team members in their professional growth and development. Monitor and report on team performance and project progress to senior management. Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies and identify areas for improvement/training requirements. Manage the full software development lifecycle, ensuring structured delivery and quality outcomes. Support with writing technical specifications for new product features. Assist with discovery for tools, features, or policy changes that could improve team performance or product capability. Carry out any other duties required by senior management appropriate to the Development Manager role. Hands-On Technical Leadership Contribute directly to development projects where required, providing technical leadership by example. Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality, performance, and security. Support the implementation of full-stack solutions including front-end, back-end, and database components. Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and guide the team toward effective, scalable solutions. Ensure smooth integration between systems and services across the product architecture. Experience, Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (minimum 2:1) ESSENTIAL Recognised management qualification (CMI Level 5 or above) or willingness to work towards it. Minimum of 2 years’ demonstrable management experience independently leading a software development team ESSENTIAL Strong technical background with hands-on full-stack development experience ESSENTIAL Proven experience with Java, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, NodeJS and React. Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS. Familiarity with database design and integration (SQL or NoSQL). Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing frameworks. Knowledge of AI development or machine learning would be an advantage. Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.). Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proven ability to lead and mentor developers and oversee multiple concurrent projects. Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills. Why work for us?
