The management team, led by CEO Dr Gordon Sanghera, has a track record of delivering disruptive technologies to the market.

Oxford Nanopore's sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis (for rapid insights), in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-long read lengths.

Our goal is to enable the analysis of any living thing, by anyone, anywhere. We offer real-time nanopore-based DNA/RNA sequencing technology: accessible, easy to use and fully scalable for any requirement

We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our Sequencing Methods Research team. This exciting and stimulating role involves developing novel methods to deliver target analytes to our nanopore sensors and to control their movement through the nanopore to unleash the full potential of our unique platform.

The details…

* Design innovative experiments to characterise the behaviour of DNA and other analytes within our platforms
* Create and test new DNA-based adapters for optimal sample delivery
* Leverage the rich data generated by Oxford Nanopore devices to unlock new insights
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, from synthetic chemistry to platform engineering, to develop next-generation analyte delivery technologies

Essential
What we are looking for...

* A PhD in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related subjects OR 4+ years post-graduate experience in relevant industrial settings
* Solid understanding of protein and DNA structures
* Basic knowledge of the principles of nanopore sequencing
* Ability to quickly pick up new concepts and evaluate experimental design

Desirable

* Single-molecule assay experience
* Strong data analysis skills
* Ability to comprehend and interpret complex and interconnected experimental results
* Experience with Python or R and the Linux command line

Applications are encouraged from candidates who can adapt quickly to new situations and enjoy working with an agile approach to research.
