We are seeking a highly motivated, professional and experienced Sous Chef to join our established kitchen team at the Delmont Hotel and The View Restaurant.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and is looking to take the next step in their career within a busy hotel and restaurant operation catering to both private guests and large-scale coach dining.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen operation
* Supervise and support the kitchen brigade to ensure efficient service delivery
* Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and service
* Assist with menu planning, development and implementation
* Ensure all food is prepared and served in line with company specifications
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
* Help manage food GP, portion control and wastage
* Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times
* Assist with the preparation and service of:
o Breakfast service for hotel guests and coach groups
o Evening restaurant service
o Functions and large group bookings
* Support in training and development of junior team members
* Step into the role of Head Chef in their absence when required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef within a busy commercial kitchen
* A recognised Food Hygiene / Health & Safety qualification
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* The ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
* Excellent communication and team management skills
* A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food
* Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and peak seasonal periods
* Experience in high-volume service (hotel or events experience desirable)
