Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Home Counties in the search for a Senior Major Projects Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 6‑month contract (with the potential to extend).
Profile
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional to manage a challenging caseload of major planning applications.
Responsibilities
* Consider and scrutinise major planning applications.
* Conduct technical assessments and prepare recommendations.
* Coordinate with the team and external professionals.
* Engage in communication and negotiation as required.
Qualifications
* Previously worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department.
* Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policies.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
* Postgraduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline is beneficial.
* Eligibility for membership of RTPI.
Benefits
* Hybrid working arrangements.
* Approx £50 per hour.
