You will be working directly with children and young people with a range of complex additional support needs. The criteria for the inclusive support activity programme is for those children and young people who have been assessed via East Renfrewshire Supporting People Framework as meeting the critical or substantial level.
The programme will aim to promote children and young people's involvement in daily play & leisure activities. You will also assist in providing a stimulating, safe and fun environment. Work within this role can be in a group setting or on a one-to-one basis with children and young people. The holiday programme runs during the school holiday periods. There is also the opportunity to support children and young people attending sport and leisure clubs in the evenings and weekends during term time.
The children and young people who access our service benefit from consistency and building relationships with our staff who are able to understand, respond and manage their needs throughout their time with us. It is therefore important that applicants can demonstrate commitment and an ability to maintain this throughout their employment.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children. In addition to this, if you have lived or worked in any country outside the UK in the past 10 years, there may be a requirement for an overseas police check.
This post requires Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration. You must currently have registration or eligibility to apply from commencement of employment (you must apply to register within the first 3 months of employment to ensure registration is complete within 6 months of starting in your role).
