We are currently seeking a Sewing Machinist to join our team and contribute to our continued success. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating industrial and lockstitch machines, along with all aspects of curtain making.
Experience/skills Required:
* Proven experience as a sewer/machinist, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
* Proficiency in sewing, cutting, and fabric handling techniques.
* Experience of working with different thicknesses of fabrics.
* Excellent knowledge of cutting & sewing different types of fabrics is essential.
* Must be able to understand pattern matching.
* Knowledge of different types of materials and fabrics.
* Strong attention to detail and an eye for design aesthetics.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Commitment to quality craftsmanship and meeting deadlines.
* Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues.

Duties Include:
* Sewing: Skilfully sew fabric and components to create curtains, scatters, tiebacks, pelmets and other tailored pieces. This may involve using sewing machines, hand stitching, and other techniques.
* Pattern Matching: Pay attention to pattern alignment and matching when working with patterned fabrics to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing finished product.
* Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces for quality, ensuring that seams are straight, materials are securely attached, and the overall appearance meets client expectations.
* Tools and Equipment: Properly use and maintain sewing machines, scissors, and other specialised equipment.
* Workspace Maintenance: Keep the work area organised, clean, and safe, following safety protocols and guidelines for the handling of materials and equipment.
* Remain flexible around the different sections within the curtain department to meet the needs of the business.
* Training will be given in all aspects of curtain making.
