You will be joining an industry-leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering a major highways project in Nottingham. This multi-accredited and highly respected contractor has a strong pipeline of long-term regional works and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are actively seeking a Site Agent to join their delivery team.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Nottingham.
Your new role
As Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of a section of works on the project. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead site operations, manage engineering and site teams, and ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the day‑to‑day delivery of highways and civil engineering works
2. Leading site teams, including Site Engineers, Agents and Forepersons
3. Ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, design and quality standards
4. Overseeing subcontractor performance and coordination
5. Driving health, safety and environmentalpliance across site activities
6. Managing short‑term planning, progress reporting and resource allocation
7. Administering NEC contracts, including change control and documentation
8. Working closely withmercial and engineering teams to ensure project success
This is a hands‑on leadership role offering real ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a major infrastructure scheme.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
9. Proven experience as a Site Agent or Sub Agent within the highways and/or public realm sectors
10. Experience managing site teams and subcontractors onplex projects
11. Solid understanding of NEC contracts
12. Strong leadership,munication and organisational skills
13. A proactive, solutions-focused and safety-first mindset
14. CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and a full UK driving licence.
