About your new company:
An established and customer-focused hire business is seeking a proactive and organised Hire desk Controller to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the hire desk and shop operations. This is a key role supporting hire, sales, stock control, and customer service while maintaining high operational and safety standards.
About your new Hire Desk Controller role:
Manage the efficient day-to-day operation of the hire desk and shop
Maximise hire and retail sales while maintaining agreed profit margins
Deliver high standards of customer service across all hire and sales channels
Ensure hire equipment is prepared, tested, and compliant, including PAT testing
Handle hire and sales enquiries via phone, email, and in person
Source, purchase, and manage hire and shop stock cost-effectively
Maintain professional equipment displays and a clean, organised shop environment
Identify and communicate new hire or sales opportunities to management
Coordinate with delivery drivers to meet or exceed customer expectations
Support wider business operations through equipment delivery, collection, testing, cleaning, pressure washing machines and other duties as required
Experience required for the Hire Desk Controller role:
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Professional telephone manner
Experience in a Hire Desk Controller role previously
Basic computer skills
Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Word (Excel desirable)
Basic understanding of stock control
Willingness to gain in-depth knowledge of hire desk software
Thorough working knowledge of rental industry equipment
