Head of Legal

Base Pay Range: £90,000-£100,000
Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Join our Central Operations team and take the lead on our legal and data‑protection functions. We are looking for a qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) with solid commercial‑contract expertise, confident leadership skills, and a strong strategic understanding of UK GDPR and privacy laws. If you are a hands‑on team player ready to tackle complex legal, contractual and compliance challenges while helping build trust and spark innovation, we’d love to have you on board.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the legal team to deliver timely, pragmatic, and high‑quality support on contract drafting, review, negotiation and ad‑hoc legal queries.
* Provide high‑quality legal advice and support on contracts across a wide range of areas, including IT, consultancy, supplier agreements, standard terms of use, sponsorship, marketing and collaboration agreements.
* Provide ad‑hoc legal support and advice relating to projects and new collaborations to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
* Provide strategic oversight of operational data‑protection activities, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, governance and compliance frameworks.
* Lead with a collaborative, inclusive approach, fostering a culture of trust, openness and learning across teams.
* Encourage continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within Legal and Data Protection teams.
Candidate Profile
* Qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) with extensive post‑qualification experience.
* Proven expertise in commercial contract drafting, review, negotiation and risk management across a wide range of contract types.
* Practical working knowledge of UK GDPR and privacy laws, with the ability to apply it in a strategic and operational context.
* Experience managing or leading a small professional team in a collaborative environment.
* Skilled in providing practical, solution‑focused legal advice to non‑specialists.
