HR Coordinator

Reports to: HR Manager
Salary: £25,000-£27,000 per annum
Location: Basingstoke – Hybrid (with occasional travel to office as required)
Job Types: Full‑time Permanent or open to a minimum of 30 hours per week part‑time permanent.


Role Purpose

The HR Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of HR services across the organisation. This role ensures that day‑to‑day HR operations run smoothly by providing administrative support, coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee records, and serving as a first point of contact for HR‑related queries. Working closely with the HR Manager and wider team, the HR Coordinator contributes to creating a positive employee experience, supporting compliance with HR policies and procedures, and helping to foster a culture that reflects the organisation’s values and commitment to high‑quality, person‑centred care.


Key Responsibilities

* Maintain and update staff records and compliance tracking systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
* Assist with the recruitment process by managing job postings on Indeed and any other relevant platforms, coordinating shortlisting, arranging interviews and liaising with candidates
* Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, including obtaining documentation and facilitating aspects of the induction process alongside the new hire’s line manager
* Complete and follow up on actions from relevant staff compliance audits
* Assist in the review and updating of HR policies and procedures as required
* Deal with staff inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits and procedures
* Prepare reports or data on HR metrics as required by management
* Contribute to additional HR activities as required by the HR Manager


Person Specification


Essential

* Proven experience in an administrative role within human resources or a related field
* Excellent attention to detail
* Confidence in using Microsoft Office applications
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
* A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a willingness to learn new systems and approaches


Desirable

* Experience of HR within a healthcare setting will be advantageous

Flexible Working Options


Hybrid / Remote Working

The company is on a mainly remote basis with occasional travel to our head office. However, the office is available for more regular days.


Flexible Start/Finish Times

Ability to vary start and end times (e.g. between 8am and 6pm) while maintaining core hours.


Compressed Hours

Option to work full weekly hours over fewer days (e.g. 37.5 hours across 4 longer days).


Adjusted Hours for Appointments/Caring Responsibilities

Flexibility to manage personal commitments with prior arrangement.


Part‑Time or Reduced Hours (Subject to Role Requirements)

Considered on a case‑by‑case basis depending on operational needs. This role requires minimum 30 hours per week.
