The Role and Responsibilities
You will be the go-to specialist for complex issues on the workshop floor, with responsibilities including:
* Advanced Fault-Finding: Diagnosing petrol, diesel, hybrid, and EV vehicles.
* Systems Analysis: Interpreting CAN bus faults, sensor/actuator data, and scope readings.
* Electrical Mastery: Navigating wiring diagrams and resolving module communication errors.
* Complex Repairs: Carrying out high-level electrical and mechanical fixes after a successful diagnosis.
* Technical Leadership: Supporting the wider team with guidance on particularly difficult jobs.
* Accuracy: Maintaining high standards of efficiency while ensuring right-first-time results.
What We Are Looking For
* Expertise: Proven diagnostic experience in a busy workshop or dealership environment.
* Software Fluency: Confidence using modern diagnostic platforms and specialist software.
* Electrical Knowledge: A deep understanding of modern vehicle systems and circuitry.
* Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ or equivalent is preferred. EV/Hybrid experience is a major advantage.
* Mindset: A methodical, professional problem-solver who takes pride in their specific skillset.
* License: A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
