Job details Posted 08 October 2025 Salary £19,727 - £20,628 per annum (actual salary) LocationMiddlesbrough Job type Permanent Contract Middlesbrough College, Business Support Reference003702 Expiry 22 October 2025 Job Advert Job Title: SEND Job Coach Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD Department : Additional Learning Support Reporting to : Director of Inclusive Learning Salary: £19,727 - £20,628 per annum (actual salary) Contractual hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks Basis : Term time, Permanent Pension : Local Government Pension Scheme Join Our Team We’re looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Inclusive Learning Department, supporting learners with special educational needs across our Supported Internship Programme and wider work experience activities. This rewarding role involves providing effective, personalised support both in college and in the workplace, working closely with employers to create inclusive environments, and helping learners overcome barriers to employment. By nurturing their personal development and building their confidence, you’ll play a key role in enabling learners to progress into meaningful and sustainable employment. What You’ll Be Doing As a SEND Job Coach, you will: Support and coach people with learning difficulties and disabilities into and at work using systematic instruction techniques to teach roles and tasks. Utilise systematic instruction and job analysis to create effective training plans for interns and to develop independence in work. Work with external stakeholders and employers to understand reasonable adjustments are and accommodations to create a supportive and inclusive workplace for interns. Educate employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and provide ongoing support and consultation. Promote and model professionalism and excellent working behaviours and interpersonal skills with students/interns at and into work. Continually assess each young person both formally and informally to create an adaptable, personalised vocational profile and contribute to individual learning plans. Keep accurate records of job coaching support provided and liaise closely CTL for PFA & Supported Internship and Associate Director for Inclusive Learning/ALS to agree appropriate levels of support for learners. What We’re Looking For We seek candidates who: Have a relevant Level 3 qualification (or above) relating to children, young people and adults with SEND Have accredited training via BASE relating to Supported Employment Techniques and/or Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI) (desirable) Hold GCSEs at Level 4/Grade C or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
