About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organised Stores Person to support our growing operations at the National Gas Terminal at St Fergus. The ideal candidate will take responsibility for managing the inflow and outflow of materials, maintaining stock accuracy, supporting site teams, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of stores on utility-based construction projects.
This is a St Fergus-based role, with travel to site stores as required. Candidates with a telehandler or multi-directional forklift licence are strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Keep the project site establishment area, stores, containers and laydown areas clean, clutter free, well signposted and efficiently organised
* Receive, organise, and issue materials, tools, and equipment for teams working within the Gas Terminal
* Place orders, chase the timely delivery, inspect deliveries, return / reject / quarantine unacceptable deliveries and store deliveries
* Keep accurate records of stock movement and update inventory logs
* Monitor stock levels, order replenishments, and liaise with the procurement team
* Check incoming deliveries against orders and report discrepancies or damages
* Deliver materials to site operatives when required
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised store area
* Support site waste management, skip coordination, and general upkeep of stores
* Ensure tools and materials are returned and stored appropriately after use
* Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to forecast material needs
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and environmental requirements
Requirements
* Proven experience in a Stores Person or similar role, ideally in construction or utilities
* Valid CSCS card
* Telehandler licence or Multi-Directional Forklift (M1) licence (preferred)
* Full UK Driving Licence (Category B)
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Strong communication skills able to interact effectively with site and office teams
* Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
* Able to work independently and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
* Counterbalance forklift licence
* Basic understanding of Health & Safety procedures in a construction setting
* Experience using inventory management systems
