Head Housekeeper – Private Estate, Surrey

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (with flexibility when required)
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 gross per annum (negotiable for the right candidate)

They travel frequently, and during these times the house continues to run smoothly with the support of a trusted and collaborative team. The environment is informal yet professional, with a real emphasis on kindness, respect, and longevity for the right person. The household is pet‑friendly, with dogs very much part of daily life.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and confident Head Housekeeper to take the lead within the housekeeping department of this beautiful estate. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be managing and working alongside two established housekeepers, ensuring the home is maintained to an exceptional standard while fostering a supportive and positive team environment.
You’ll oversee the day‑to‑day upkeep of the interiors, including detailed cleaning, care of fine materials such as marble and wood, and full laundry management. You’ll also coordinate dry cleaning, organise schedules, and work closely with the Estate Manager to ensure everything runs seamlessly across both properties.
This position would suit someone who enjoys leading by example, is naturally organised, and takes pride in creating efficient and sustainable routines within a household. Flexibility and a proactive, can‑do attitude are key, as is a genuine enjoyment of working in a rural, pet‑friendly setting.
Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience as a Head Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeper within a private household or estate
* A natural leader who is hands‑on and collaborative in their approach
* Highly organised, discreet, and self‑motivated
* Confident working with fine fabrics and surfaces
* Pet‑friendly and comfortable around dogs (some feeding may be required)
* A confident driver, ideally based locally
* Seeking a long‑term role with balance and stability
