We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated, and compassionate senior Support Worker to play a core part in delivering skills underpinned by brief psychological interventions within the new A-EDIT service.
The Adult Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment service (A-EDIT) is a regionwide service offering treatment as an alternative to Specialist Eating Disorder (SEDU) inpatient admission to adults receiving treatment from an east of England Community Eating Disorders service (CEDS) who have a severe eating disorder which makes them eligible for SEDU admission.
The overall aim will be to support them to avoid an inpatient admission. The successful candidate will provide skilled support at mealtimes both within and outside the home. This support is informed by a good knowledge of eating disorder symptomology and psychopathology.
If you are looking for a new challenge, are passionate about or have an interest in the field of eating disorders and enjoy variety in your work and wish to be part of a team striving to make a difference for our community, then we want to hear from you.
The post holder will liaise and support adults with an eating disorder who are on the alternative to Specialist Eating Disorder inpatient admission pathway and their carers. The nature of this support will be guided by the patient’s formulation and will support the service user’s recovery.
The postholder may also assist in the assessment and provision of behavioural and supportive interventions outside of mealtimes. The postholder will support people online or in person at mealtimes and may also be involved in online group provision along with other team members. The post holder will ensure they communicate with excellence within the AEDIT team and with community eating disorders clinicians and teams in the region.
