This position is for an enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Putney & Roehampton Integrated Recovery Team. Band 5 Occupational Therapists who have completed their Preceptorship and are looking to transition into a Band 6 role through our Preceptorship Plus programme will also be considered.
Responsibilities
* Work within our Community Service Line, supporting clients with complex mental health needs to recover and step down from services.
* Provide standardised assessments using the Model of Human Occupation.
* Implement the manualised evidence‑based intervention GLOW (Graduated Living Outside of the Ward) and an 8‑week group intervention based on Recovery Through Activity.
* Deliver basic Sensory Profiling training to community OTs and use it to support clients with additional sensory needs.
* Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, particularly Recovery Support Workers and Employment Specialists, to promote OT within the team and support clients’ occupational goals.
* Engage with the Involvement Team to encourage service users and carers to feel supported and involved in service development.
* Build relationships with external community organisations such as social prescribers and peer support workers.
Qualifications
* Band 6 Occupational Therapist (or Band 5 with completed Preceptorship, seeking to move into Band 6).
* Experience in community‑based mental health settings preferred.
