What is the Opportunity?
Join a dynamic team at the heart of Wealth Management Europe in London, where your expertise in risk management will shape strategic decisions and foster trust with stakeholders. This role is about building lasting relationships—with colleagues, business leaders, and clients—while ensuring our operations are resilient, efficient, and aligned with industry best practices. As a Senior Manager, Operational Risk Management, you’ll lead a collaborative team, drive innovation, and position RBC as a leader in risk excellence.This is a permanent, full-time role with 4 days in our London and Jersey offices.What Will You Do?
1. Partner with leaders: Work closely with Wealth Management teams across the UK and globally to provide actionable risk insights, enabling confident decision-making.
2. Strengthen risk practices: Lead initiatives in risk event analysis, issues management, and change risk assessments to identify gaps and enhance controls.
3. Guide strategic processes: Oversee the annual Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Risk Appetite framework, ensuring alignment with business goals.
4. Foster a culture of improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and integrate industry best practices.
5. Develop talent: Mentor a high-performing team, nurturing a collaborative, relationship-driven environment that attracts and retains top talent.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have
6. Proven experience in operational risk management, with expertise in RCSA, risk appetite, and control frameworks.
7. Strong relationship-building skills and a track record of partnering with business leaders to drive results.
8. Ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-risk stakeholders.
9. Leadership experience in mentoring teams and fostering a culture of engagement and growth.
10. Familiarity with financial services regulations and a commitment to staying ahead of industry trends.
Nice-to-Have
11. Knowledge of Wealth Management and the unique risks in this sector.
12. Experience with data-driven storytelling to influence strategic decisions.
13. Creativity in designing engaging risk management processes that drive efficiency.
