You'll oversee the delivery of tailored support to researchers at all career stages, including training, funding advice, and compliance with open research and data policies. Your responsibilities will include managing the University's research management system, institutional repositories, and ensuring robust practices across research data management, impact, metrics/altmetrics, scholarly communications, and copyright.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Creating an Inclusive Environment: Adopting a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and ensuring all activities are inclusive.
2. Supporting Students and Staff: Strengthening mental health support, enhancing disability confidence, and providing academic and professional support.
3. Tackling Inequalities: Involving students in recruitment, analyzing equality data, and supporting networks for protected characteristics.
Candidate Profile:
We seek someone with deep expertise in the UK research landscape, particularly REF, and a passion for enabling research excellence. You should have substantial experience supporting research in Higher Education, with up-to-date knowledge of REF requirements, Open Research, research impact, and emerging trends in research support and repository systems.
You must be comfortable navigating complex policies and translating them into effective support and training. Proven experience in managing and motivating teams, project management, and budget management is essential. Experience delivering training, especially online and blended formats, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required. Ability to analyze and present complex data clearly, and to work collaboratively across networks, is vital.
Qualifications include a good Honours degree or equivalent, with a commitment to professional development. A relevant professional qualification, membership of a professional body, or a postgraduate research degree (e.g., MRes, PhD) would be advantageous.

You will join the Directorate of Research and Knowledge Exchange, which supports the University's research ambitions through various teams including Research Support, Knowledge Exchange, the Graduate School, and research institutes.
