General Operative - Butchery
Monday - Friday, 7.30am-4pm*
*Daily overtime required until production completed

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
We are currently seeking general operatives to support our butchery department with a combination of labouring duties and production line work.
Main Duties Include (but not limited to):
* To complete general labour duties within the butchery department, including pushing and pulling of dolavs and pump trucks
* Moving 10kg pouches of meat trimmings
* Feeding trimmings down shoots into a compressor
* Preparing / lining/ raking out dolavs
* Maintain a clean and tidy area meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site
* Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the production area
* Report any equipment defects immediately to the Line Leader
* Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
* Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations
* Understand and minimise energy and waste within the department

* Experience in a similar role - labourer, factory / warehouse operative
* Experience working in fast-paced, hands-on environments
* Able to work to daily targets
* Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in cold environments
* Awareness of food hygiene and health and safety
