Assistant Technical Officer

Responsibilities
* Deliver a high‑quality reprocessing and sterilisation service for instrument procedure packs and equipment used across the Trust and partner organisations.
* Support the provision of safe, sterile surgical instrumentation—whether produced in‑house or purchased—used by Operating Theatres, Wards, Outpatient Clinics, Radiology, Emergency Departments, Community Nursing and Midwifery Services, as well as external healthcare providers.
* Operate and carry out daily testing of all disinfection, processing and sterilisation equipment in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications
* Adequate level of education (e.g., pass grade in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent) to demonstrate appropriate literacy and numeracy.
* Basic keyboard skills.
* Completion of NHS National Decontamination Training Programme.
Experience
* Previous NHS experience.
* Experience of working in a Decontamination Service.
Contractual Requirements
* Medically cleared by Occupational Health as fit to undertake the duties and responsibilities of the role.
* Bank holiday cover.
* On‑call rota.
* Saturday and Sunday working rota.
* Service provision to both King's Mill Hospital and Newark sites.
