The Agency was established as, the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency in 1996, referred to as NIGALA. With the commencement of the implementation of The Adoption and Children Act (2022), The Children’s Court Guardian Agency for Northern Ireland (Establishment and Constitution) Order (Northern Ireland) 2023 came into force on the 6th March 2023. This changed the name of the Agency to the Children’s Court Guardian Agency for Northern Ireland and the Guardians Ad Litem to Children’s Court Guardians.The primary function of the Children’s Court Guardian Agency for Northern Ireland is to provide Children’s Court Guardians who are appointed by the Court to safeguard the interests of children and young people in specified public law and adoption proceedings within the Family Courts in NI.The Agency has recently been through significant restructuring of its operational and senior leadership arrangements, and as part of this transformation are seeking to appoint a Quality Assurance Learning and Improvement Manager.
Responsibilities
* To work with the Assistant Director and Chair of the Social Care Governance Committee to evaluate and review on an ongoing basis the performance and strategic delivery of the social work workforce across the Agency.
* Ensure compliance with the Agency’s statutory functions and professional standards through the development of an assurance framework.
* Will be responsible for providing leadership in professional practice, training/development to ensure consistent professional social work services across the Agency.
Skills and Qualifications
* A relevant professional social work qualification and be registered with NISCC.
* At least 5 years post qualifying experience working in social work services which must include a minimum of 2 years in a Band 7 management/ supervisory role or equivalent grade.
