Your Role in Our Team
As part of the leadership team, reporting directly to the Head Teacher, you will collaborate with colleagues across the group to develop your skills. The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead supports the DSL in safeguarding duties, including liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents, carers, and staff regarding wellbeing, child protection, and safeguarding matters. You will also support the wider school team in maintaining a safe environment.

Millcourt School is an independent specialist day school in Shelf, Yorkshire, catering to pupils with SEMH needs and other related conditions. Housed in a refurbished historic mill, the school provides a nurturing and engaging environment where students who have experienced multiple placements can find stability and success.

Who We’re Looking For
Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in a school setting, with a strong CPD portfolio related to safeguarding and child protection. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT systems, excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, initiative, and a full UK driving license are essential.
