You will play a vital role in delivering a cost-effective, customer-focused service with a strong commitment to safety. You will be responsible for managing stock movements in and out of the Stores, as well as supporting repair and maintenance activities for plant and equipment. A key part of the role involves maintaining accurate records in the SAP database to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of warehouse equipment. You will also be expected to identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs, without compromising safety or customer service. With new technology being introduced in the Warehouse, you will need to bring strong tech skills and adaptability, alongside excellent administrative and interpersonal abilities. A full UK driving licence is a requirement for this role In this role you will Take responsibility for the delivery and collection of all inward and outward stock movements, ensuring accurate recording on the relevant electronic systems before items leave the warehouse to support business operations Monitor deliveries and collections carefully, maintaining alignment with stock levels. Verify the accuracy of all incoming and outgoing stock by ensuring systems are consistently updated Operate mechanical lifting and handling equipment, tools, and other machinery safely and competently (e.g. mini excavators, pneumatic tools). Where appropriate, carry out repairs and ensure all equipment is correctly maintained and stored Oversee the repair and maintenance of equipment for operatives and departments within Northern Gas Networks (NGN), ensuring all items provided are compliant, fit for purpose, and meet relevant HSE legislation, company standards, and codes of practice Work closely with onsite customer teams and managers to ensure correct documentation and ordering processes are followed in line with electronic stock systems, maintaining accurate records for all inventory movements Take full responsibility for resolving any discrepancies within the electronic stock system Perform driving tasks to deliver and collect equipment and tools and provide support at other warehouse locations as required We are looking for Proficient in using MRP and warehouse management systems, with experience in SAP (training on SAP 4 will be provided) Strong IT skills, including competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience in servicing, calibrating, and maintaining plant and equipment (desirable) Current Gas Network Safety Passport or equivalent (desirable) Valid Telehandler license (desirable) Trailer/Towing license (Category B/E) (desirable) Why join NGN?
