As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including those with autism, social-emotional needs, and other additional learning requirements. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support to children with SEN, adapting approaches to suit individual needs. * Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. * Support children with complex emotional needs using a trauma-informed and nurturing approach. * Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional wellbeing. * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. * Support with personal care needs where required. * Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and staff regarding progress and development. * Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times. What You Need * Team Teach certification. * Makaton training. * A trauma-informed mindset with experience supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. * Willingness to complete Epilepsy and Anaphylaxis training (courses provided). * Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Bonus Skills & Experience * Food Hygiene training. * Previous experience supporting children with autism (ASC) or complex learning needs. * Knowledge of therapeutic or nurture-based approaches.
