The Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide invaluable support to children with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence in a classroom setting. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and outside agencies to ensure that each child receives the tailored support they need to succeed. The role requires patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students in a variety of learning situations. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the delivery of tailored support to children with SEN, both in and out of the classroom Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with specific learning needs, behaviour difficulties, or physical disabilities Help create and adapt learning resources to meet the needs of individual students Support the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals involved in the child's development Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities Ensure students are supported during breaks and transitions throughout the school day Pre-requisites: Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or educational setting A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN Support qualification, or equivalent) Understanding of various learning needs and strategies to support them, including autism, dyslexia, and behavioural needs Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the well-being of students Ability to work independently and as part of a team A proactive and flexible approach to meeting the needs of students All candidates who register with Simply Education are required to provide references for the previous 2 years of work, as well as complete an enhanced DBS check.
