Job Title: Haematology and Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist

Rate: £22–£27 per hour
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Haematology and Blood Transfusion to join our client’s team in Scarborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients, ensuring the highest standards of laboratory practice.
Responsibilities:
* Perform a wide range of diagnostic tests in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, interpret results, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
* Maintain quality control procedures, participate in audits, and contribute to the development of laboratory protocols.
* Train and supervise junior staff, manage laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Experience:
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
* BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent
* Significant experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion
* Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
* Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with advancements in the field
