SWBIRS is seeking a
Transitional Living Unit Coordinator
to provide
temporary part-time leave relief
in our Albury-based rehabilitation program. This leave relief position offers a chance to make a real difference in the lives of people recovering from brain injury.
About Your Role
SWBIRS is a specialist rehabilitation service supporting people with acquired brain injuries across the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. Our services include allied health assessments, therapy, education, and rehabilitation coordination. We offer both community outreach and centre-based programs.
One of our key programs
is
Tarkarri
, a 4-day/week residential
Transitional Living Unit
based in a fully equipped 4-bedroom house in Lavington. Participants live in Tarkarri from Monday to Thursday to engage in contextual, goal-driven rehabilitation. The unit is staffed 24/7 by allied health assistants, ensuring consistent support in a safe and therapeutic environment.
As The TLU Coordinator, You Will
* Lead the day-to-day operations of the Transitional Living Unit.
* Coordinate interdisciplinary rehabilitation plans tailored to individual client goals.
* Manage permanent and casual allied health assistants
* Support clients in developing life skills for independent living.
* Ensure a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for clients transitioning back into the community.
* Collaborate with the Clinical Team Leader and allied health team.
* Carry a clinical caseload, providing discipline specific rehabilitation and rehabilitation coordination.
* Support intake during Clinical Team Leader leave.
If you are a compassionate, organised, and experienced health professional with:
* A Tertiary Qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology or Social Work.
* Have experience in brain injury rehabilitation or community-based care.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* A commitment to person-centred care and recovery-focused practice.
* And you are looking to make a meaningful impact in a short-term capacity.
