An established and progressive property management and development company is expanding its North London team and is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support a growing residential portfolio. Working across a diverse mix of refurbishments and new-build schemes, this is an opportunity to step into a position where your technical expertise will directly influence project outcomes and long-term asset performance.
Your responsibilities as the Building Surveyor will include:
* Undertaking building condition surveys, defect investigations, and feasibility assessments
* Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
* Managing procurement and appointing consultants and contractors
* Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
* Monitoring site progress, quality, and health & safety compliance
* Providing technical advice on building pathology, repairs, maintenance, and statutory compliance
* Managing budgets, cost reporting, and value-engineering opportunities
* Coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams
* Controlling change, managing risk, and maintaining quality standards
* Building strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and external partners
* Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard
Requirements:
* A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
* MRICS / MCIOB status (or working towards) is advantageous
* Solid experience in UK residential building surveying
* Strong technical knowledge across construction, refurbishment, and maintenance
* A good working knowledge of building regulations and property legislation
* Confident communication, reporting, and client-facing skills
* The ability to manage multiple projects without losing momentum
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with natural leadership qualities
