This role will mainly involve completing assessments and supporting prospective adoptive parents and families in need of post‑adoption and SGO support. The team manages adoption and SGO services across the large county of Lincolnshire, so travel is required.
A skilled and experienced social worker is needed. The candidate must have excellent time‑management skills, be an analytical report writer, and have safeguarding children at the heart of everything they do.
Experience in the field of adoption is preferable, such as a supervising social worker or in post‑adoption support or kinship support. Experience of presenting at a panel, attending court, making and maintaining relationships with adoptive parents, and understanding the trauma and attachment needs of children who cannot live within their birth families is paramount. Having therapeutic experience or qualifications would be a benefit. An understanding of the adoption agency regulations and the Adoption Support Services Regulations 2005 is crucial.
