What's involved with this role: Temporary Early Help Assistant / Admin - Family Service Reference no: Nottinghamshire TCL 0008 9358 / 1 Pay rate: £12.80 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 3 months City: ARNOLD, Nottinghamshire There is flexibility around hybrid working however workers will need to meet the needs of families and be available to complete home visits planned and unplanned on a day to day basis Enhanced DBS required for this role Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role An Early Help Assistant is required to support the work of the service in securing best outcomes for children, young people and their families. This will include supporting assessments of need and undertaking direct work with children, young people and their families in line with the relevant plan. Key responsibilities: Support Early Help Case Managers in the assessment of the needs. Arrange and attend Multi-agency meetings, with responsibility for associated administrative tasks. Support Early Help Case Managers to implement plans for children and families where appropriate. This will involve the initiation and coordination of a range of outcomes. Undertake direct work with children and families as part of their plan. Liaise with schools, health services, voluntary agencies and other partner agencies to gather information and implement support for children and families. Review and assess the impact of plans for children and families. Maintain accurate and up to date written records – minute taking, book TAFs, chase attendance records throughout case is open. Provide information, advice and support to service users and their carers. Work with children, young people and families in different settings including the family home, and to transport them when required with due regard to health and safety guidance Use manual and computerised systems for the recording of information and data and ensure that all relevant records and documents are managed in accordance with policy and procedures and to keep up to date case records in accordance with policy. Experience: At least two years' experience of working with children, young people and their families in a social care environment, through paid or voluntary work experience. Experience of working with other agencies, either in the statutory or voluntary sector. Experience of managing challenging situations or conflict. Experience of working to deadline, managing priorities and ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Experience of keeping records of work undertaken. Experience of working in a team. Knowledge: Knowledge of child development and children’s needs. Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills with a range of people including children, young people, parents and carers, colleagues and other professionals and managers. A high level of personal drive and commitment to excellent customer care. Minute taking skills and experience. Able to work well with colleagues but also able to work on own initiative. Willingness on occasion to work outside or beyond core hours. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
