We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This employee will report to both Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, based in Wirral. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Driving is necessary for home care visits.
Duties
* Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support.
* Attending to sleep in shifts on rota'd shifts. Entitled to 2 Night shifts per week, at a competitive rate
* Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring that each resident's individual needs are met.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.
* Engage residents in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Support residents with meals, ensuring dietary requirements are adhered to.
* Maintain personal care & hygiene for the service user, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive atmosphere.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
* Proactively complete online and in-person training to ensure employee is compliant
* Engage in staff meetings and on our communications if there are any concerns, issues regarding care or work ethics within the working environment.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
* A valid driving licence is desirable for those involved in home care visits.
* Strong understanding of English language for effective communication with residents and colleagues.
* Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software.
* Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and patience when interacting with residents.
