Position Overview
Borders General Hospital, Melrose, Scottish Borders (TD6 9BS) is offering LOCUM APPOINTMENT FOR TRAINING (LAT) SPECIALTY REGISTRAR (ST4) for Medicine for the Elderly. The post is recognised for training at ST4 level and national eligibility criteria apply. The role offers excellent experience for those considering a career in Medicine for the Elderly. Applicants must have passed all parts of the MRCP UK examination (written Part 1, written Part 2 and PACES) and hold full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
Responsibilities
* Provide a proportion of out-of-hours activity including as a Team Leader on the Hospital at Night Team rota.
* Participate in the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
* Perform quality improvement projects.
* Be involved in Medical Education, specifically in Simulation.
Qualifications
* Passed all parts of the MRCP UK examination (written Part 1, written Part 2 and PACES).
* Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
Salary and Dates
£45,504 – £71,550 (basic, placement depends on previous recognised experience). Available from 03 February 2026 to 04 August 2026.
