Job Overview
An exciting opportunity for a part‑time Qualified Paramedic or Band 5 Technician to join Scunthorpe Ambulance Station on a job‑share rota (18.75 hours per week).
Responsibilities
* Respond to critical emergency and urgent situations, delivering high‑quality pre‑hospital clinical care and transporting patients, relatives and carers.
* Operate under blue‑light conditions and normal traffic speeds, using advanced driving skills and emergency vehicle precautions.
* Utilise high‑tech equipment (defibrillators, spinal/traction splints, intravenous drips), administer oxygen and drugs, and manage clinical situations in all weather conditions.
* Maintain vehicle readiness: conduct daily checks, stock consumables, check controlled drugs and ensure the vehicle is roadworthy.
* Provide clinical leadership to lower grades, uphold EMAS clinical policies, procedures and values.
* Work as part of a crew or solo responder; seek patient, relative and carer input wherever possible.
Qualifications
* Current HCPC registration.
* Blue‑light driving qualification (e.g., IHCD D1/D2, FutureQuals).
Experience / Requirements
* Full C1 driving licence with no more than 3 points.
* Experience in pre‑hospital emergency or urgent care (preferably as a paramedic or technician).
* Enhanced DBS clearance required for frontline roles and no unspent convictions.
