The Team:

Based in the community in Launceston, you will be joining a friendly and motivated multidisciplinary team including a small core team of specialists, registrars, nursing and allied health staff. We provide palliative care services across Northern Tasmania extending from the Meander Valley, to the Bass Strait and the Bay of Fires and to historic central Tasmania.

We are a progressive team, with a strong focus on quality improvement initiatives, novel therapeutics and programs which improve access to palliative care for people in our catchment. The volunteers are an integral part of the provision of palliative care and require the support of an approachable, organised and sympathetic coordinator.

The Role:

* Provide leadership, develop and maintain systems and coordinate recruitment, training, resources and ongoing support of Specialist Palliative Care Service, Volunteer Support Program.
* Effectively manages and coordinates volunteer support services within community and inpatient settings across Northern Tasmania.

Specialist Palliative Care Service North - Primary Health North - 33-39 Howick Street, Launceston, 7250

* The service supports clients with complex palliative care needs and bereavement support
* Focus on coordinating the provision of volunteer support for social, practical and bereavement client/family needs
* Working within a multidisciplinary service with multiple sectors for support

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 53.2 hours per fortnight, 7 July 2025until 3 July 2026.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:$81,915 to $94,263 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

* Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

* Current Driver’s Licence

* Certificate IV in Coordination of Volunteer Programs or working towards same
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
