By ensuring the smooth operation of payroll services, you’ll help maintain a motivated and supported workforce— enabling high-quality public services and contributing to our efficient and customer-focused council.
As aPayroll Team Leader, you'll be at the heart of a high-performing team, driving service excellence and innovation for more than 35,000 employees in public sector organisations across the North West.
What you'll be doing:
* Support and manage the Payroll Team in the efficient administration of a quality, accurate and timely payroll, and pensions function in accordance with statutory, legislative, and contractual obligations.
* Part of a team providing a professional payroll service, working to strict monthly deadlines, and achieving monthly performance targets.
* Building strong relationships with stakeholders and resolving payroll issues.

* Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on service quality and continuous improvement.
* Proven ability to manage change, implement system enhancements, and ensure compliance.
* Demonstrated ability to manage customer interactions effectively, including handling and resolving complaints to ensure positive outcomes.
