Senior Garment Technologist – Knitwear
We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Garment Technologist to lead the technical development of our Knitwear category. This role is pivotal in ensuring consistent fit across the knitwear collection while maintaining the highest standards of quality in fit, construction, and technical specification. From prototype through to bulk production, you will drive fit excellence and ensure all knitwear styles meet business standards, price architecture, and critical path requirements.
You will take ownership of preparing for and leading fit sessions across all stages of development, approving samples, and issuing clear, detailed technical comments supported by diagrams and imagery where required. Working closely with Design, Buying and Product Development, you will ensure knitwear designs are aligned with production capabilities without compromising creativity or quality. You will manage grading and size consistency, drive seasonal block refreshes, and liaise directly with suppliers to resolve technical queries, supporting factories where necessary to achieve the desired fit and finish.
A key part of the role involves managing product quality across the knitwear category, including overseeing test report management, wash care approvals, and early-stage risk assessments. You will approve grade rules for bulk production, analyse customer returns, and create strategies with suppliers to reduce repeat issues and improve overall return rates. You will also review QC concerns, support commercial decision-making, and ensure suppliers take accountability while continuously driving improvements in knit construction and performance.
The ideal candidate is highly organised, technically strong in knitwear construction and grading, and confident managing multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment. You are a clear and succinct communicator, commercially aware, and experienced in supplier management, factory audits, and establishing best-practice technical standards across a supply base.
