English Teacher - SEN/SEMH Specialist School
Are you a qualified teacher, or do you have experience teaching/supporting young people with SEN/SEMH?
An Outstanding specialist school for pupils with SEN & SEMH needs are searching for an English Teacher to join them ASAP, or January at the latest.
As an English Teacher you will be teaching GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent to pupils in KS3 & KS4, with small class sizes of 6 maximum. Most students have ASD, and all of the students have ADHD or trauma/anxiety which can create challenging behaviour. However, all students benefit from:

* Tailored, short, low-pressure lessons which pupils enjoy
* Therapeutic aspect, which all staff receive weekly training on
* State of the art facilities, on beautiful grounds surrounded by greenery

* Teaching small classes of KS3 & KS4 students
* Full Time, Permanent Contract
* £28,000 - £55,277 per annum, dependent on your experience & qualifications
* Start ASAP, or in January 2026 at the latest
Candidate Spec - English Teacher
* Qualified Teacher with QTS/QTLS or Unqualified candidates with relevant experience
* Genuinely passionate about SEN, SEMH and Inclusion
* Confident behaviour management skills, with an empathetic, understanding nature
* Resilient, patient and kind. You will have challenging days, but they will be outweighed by the amount of rewarding ones!
* Ages 6-16, with capacity for 75 pupils and plans to extend to KS5
* Located in Tonbridge, just off the A21
* Parking on site or a 10 min walk from a station on the South Eastern line
* Strong leadership team and team of teachers, who have all transitioned from mainstream teaching
