Main Purpose of the Position
To support all electrical systems and equipment in the plant as well as continuous development and optimization of their usage to ensure the smooth and continuous running of the manufacturing area.
Under the direction of the Electrical Co:ordinator, service the requirements of the manufacturing process to assist the plant meet its KPI requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Installs and maintains high:speed, industrial process equipment for can making, power, lighting, control and PLC logic controls for all production process and control.
- Troubleshoot, adjusts and repairs all electrical equipment, components, transducers, and complex timing and inspection devices.
- Performs preventative maintenance on assigned electrical systems.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions and corrects through programmable logic controls.
- Ensures effective equipment operation through proper line control programming and proactively suggest methods to improve line performance.
- Installs and troubleshoots facility power distribution and lighting services.
- Updates wiring schematics and computer / PLC program printouts.
- Supplies and maintains required hand tools.
- Maintains daily log:books and records where applicable.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer systems.
- Determines all supplies needed for each assignment.
- Performs clean:up, painting, and housekeeping duties as and when required or instructed.
- Initiates, reviews, and follows all standard operating procedures for your area of responsibility.
- Complies with established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of the work assignment.
- Maintains awareness and complies with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements in the workplace by attending scheduled training sessions.
- Adheres to all company practices and procedures with regards to waste management and health and safety.
- Understands, completes, and maintains environmental documentation for which the individual is trained or is directed (i.e., inspections, labeling, record keeping, maintenance of equipment, etc.)
