As our Employee Relations Manager, you'll play a pivotal role within our People Hub, leading a team of ER Partners while providing expert case management support across the business. You'll be the go‑to specialist for all aspects of employee relations, employment legislation and best‑practice guidance, ensuring our Advice Team delivers exceptional service every time.
This role is hybrid, with travel to our Newcastle office once per week and occasional travel to our other sites.
What you will be doing:
Provide expert guidance on HR policies, employment legislation and best‑practice ER processes.
Shape and progress the ER strategy, promoting positive employee relations across the organisation.
Lead and develop the Employee Relations Team, supporting complex or high‑risk cases to ensure effective resolution.
Oversee Employment Tribunal case management, maintaining accurate central records and associated cost tracking.
Analyse ER metrics and management information, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions or process improvements.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure high levels of customer service and proactive issue resolution.
What you'll bring:
Experience leading complex ER cases, redundancies and restructures.
Proven ability to manage, develop and support team members to deliver high‑quality ER outcomes.
Strong background in managing complex employee relations issues and advising on up‑to‑date employment legislation.
Experience handling Employment Tribunal cases, including preparation and attendance.
Confident analysing data and metrics, drawing insights, and making evidence‑based recommendations for improvement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong relationships and deliver outstanding customer service across all levels of the organisation.
It would be great if you had:
Qualified in level 5 or 7 CIPD
Previous experience in a shared service environment
