Position Details
Role: 12-month fixed-term locum Consultant Dermatologist (10 Programmed Activities)
Base: GGC - Clyde, covering Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital
This role involves working across two hospitals and may require duties at other sites as directed by the Clinical Service Lead. The post includes 10 Programmed Activities within the Glasgow and Clyde Dermatology Directorate.
Department Overview
Adult dermatology services are provided by the Directorate of Dermatology at the Alan Lyell Centre, operating on a hub and spoke model. The regional centre serves approximately 1.5 million people in West Scotland, with services delivered at eight hospital sites, including the QEUH, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and others. The multidisciplinary team includes Consultants, Specialty Doctors, GP Clinical Assistants, and dermatology nurses, with subspecialty clinics at QEUH.
Responsibilities and Special Interests
The successful candidate will join a team of dermatologists with special interests in areas such as skin cancer, photodermatology, severe psoriasis, genodermatoses, pediatric dermatology, and more.
Qualifications
Applicants should have GMC registration, a license to practice, MRCP or equivalent, and be eligible for the Specialist Register. UK-trained applicants should demonstrate higher specialist training in Dermatology leading to CCT or CESR. Non-UK applicants must show equivalent training.
