Role Overview
Were looking for an MEP Design Lead to join our Major Project team at Kier Group. The role is based in Rushden or London with travel to site for delivery; remote working is available on a flexible basis. This is an exciting opportunity to lead MEP design and coordination delivery for complex, major projects valued over £200m, supporting and developing a talented team of design management professionals. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this role.
Responsibilities
* Lead MEP design and coordination from pre‑construction through to completion, ensuring alignment with delivery strategies.
* Supervise and mentor the MEP design management team, conduct performance reviews and support their professional development.
* Collaborate with construction design colleagues and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Oversee multiple design workstreams, manage consultant performance and ensure quality outputs are delivered to programme.
* Manage design risk and opportunities, contribute to integrated programmes and support commercial and procurement strategies.
Qualifications
* Senior‑level experience in Tier 1 contracting with a proven track record delivering complex major projects over £200m.
* Engineering qualifications (ideally BEng Hons in Building Services Engineering) and membership of a professional institute such as CIBSE or IET.
* Excellent technical knowledge including BIM (ISO 19650), Building Safety Act, statutory legislation, HTM/HBNs and public sector governance processes.
* Strong leadership skills with people‑management, mentoring and team‑development experience.
* Collaborative problem‑solving and communication skills with the ability to motivate others to achieve high standards.
