Regional Health and Safety Manager
Location: Crawley & Exeter branches.
Annual salary: Up to £55,000 plus company vehicle or car allowance and great company benefits.
Contract type: Full time, permanent. 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00‑16.30.
Key requirements: Valid UK driving licence.
About the Role
Providing competent advice and support to operational and administration teams, the Regional SHE Manager will implement and take responsibility for all aspects of SHE on contracts covering construction and non‑construction activities within the branch. They will monitor compliance with policy, procedures and systems, support staff, report non‑compliance to managers and instill a strong health and safety culture among staff and subcontractors.
The role requires meeting set KPIs, including completing compliance audits, producing reports with findings and actions, and liaising with Branch Managers to resolve issues.
They will be an integral member of the management team, developing good relationships with clients and staff, delivering formal training to the wider team and business. A Level 3 qualification in training would be an advantage but not essential.
The role involves regular travel across Crawley and Exeter areas to support field‑based teams on SHE compliance matters.
Key Criteria
* Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
* Experience in construction health and safety
* Experience in social housing
* Valid UK driving licence
* Current knowledge of health and safety legislation; good working practices essential
* Experience and understanding of health and safety issues in a property maintenance/management setting
* Team player with a proactive, positive attitude
* Initiative, confidence, decisiveness, enthusiasm, reliability, patience, approachability and willingness to develop self and others
Desirable Requirements
* Diploma or level 6 qualification in Health and Safety
* Environmental management qualification
* Auditor qualification
* Other H&S qualifications used on a construction site (scaffolding, temporary works, etc.)
